A stove operating tool (or multi-tool) is a steel or cast-iron handle used to safely manage a solid fuel stove while hot. Its primary functions are removing the ash pan, operating the riddling mechanism to shake ash from the grate, opening and closing stove doors when hot and adjusting air controls.
